If you own a car that is being driven on roads in the UK then you will be aware that it is a legal requirement to insure the vehicle. However, did you realize that there is quite a difference between the performances of car insurance companies?
So which car insurer is deemed to be the best in the UK? Well, some research has been made by Which? that makes for interesting reading. It carried out a survey of 2,793 customers of 28 car insurance companies who had made claims on their policies quite recently to find out how their insurers treated them. Which? also examined the policies. So it sounds like it was comprehensive research.
NFU Mutual was in first place with a Which? customer score of 81%, a policy score of 76% and a claims score of 84%. LV was in second spot with a Which? customer score of 70%, a policy score of 78% and a claims score of 74%.
Only the above two companies provided enough levels of cover and standards of high level service to be awarded the Which? Recommended Provider (WRP) award.

A lot of people are just interested in how much an insurance company is going to charge them for insuring their car that, especially in the current economic climate, is understandable.
